Cousin Henry Olin  8 lbs, 13 oz and 20 3/4 long

Athea is debuting her "Lil Cuz" onesie that Grandma Lil made. She made a "Big Sis" for Cousin Alexa and a "Lil Bro" for Cousin Henry. So, Athea got the "Lil Cuz."She is saluting the birth of Cousin Henry! (side note... that is a preemie onesie that was quite a bit snug!)

More Weight Gain!

Once again, I tackled the task of taking Athea to a doctor's appointment since Ben had to work. This appointment was with a specialist to see if Athea qualifies to get the RSV shots to protect her from getting Respiratory Syncytial Virus which is a common illness among children. For premature babies, RSV can lead to more serious illnesses. FYI.

Anyway, since Athea will need to be in a daycare during the RSV season and she is still small we thought we would check it out. She most likely won't be a candidate for insurance to cover the monthly injections since she only meets one criteria (needs two)... but on the bright side... she gained more weight! She is now 6 lb, 5 oz!

Here is she is after the appointment... she looks bigger in her car seat!

Pics for Daddy

Since Ben is back at work, Athea and I have mini photo shoots daily to send to daddy so he can see what's going on at home. Here are a few choice pics!

One Month Old

Guess who is now one month old??? That's right... Athea! When describing her size, we started telling people that her mid section is like a chipotle burrito. So... armed with her one month sticker (Thanks Aunt Malia) and a chipotle burrito we took some photos of our one month old!

Here are some other favorites of Athea at one month... I know... we have a ton of favorites!

2nd Doctor's Appointment

The 2nd doctor's appointment I tackled on my own... Dr. Foster said I looked calm! It definitely isn't easy doing everything on your own... I admire any stay at home parent and all single parents. WOW! We got through it though and she gained more weight!

Dr. Foster was impressed that she gained nearly a pound within the past 10 days. Due to her consistent weight gain she doesn't need to see her until her 2 month appointment. This made me nervous!

28 days old
5 lbs, 4 oz

Check out the pictures below... everyone is exhausted! When Ben got home from work he passed out with Athea and Lorenzo (although... Lorenzo didn't go anywhere)!

I'll Miss You Daddy

Today Daddy had to go back to work... it was definitely different without him at home. My mom was here for most of the day... when she went to pick up my dad at the airport I was all alone with Athea!

While he was at work we had to send him a picture to get him through the day! Here is Athea hanging out with Grandma.

First Week at Home

Our first full week at home with Athea was definitely different than being in the NICU. Whew! We were exhausted and so were the boys! In the first week, both boys would get up for middle of the night feedings and hang out with us. By the end of they week they were exhausted and slept through Athea's crying. We were still trying to get the sunroom finished as best as we could because my mom was moving in for about a week before she headed to Maryland. So we were rushing around trying to set it up while adjusting to having Athea home. BUT we got through it. We found our groove. Even though we had spent time in the NICU we were now on our own. No nurses to get us set up for feedings. No nurses to watch over her while we needed to eat or pump. It was all on us now!

We were also dealing with applying for a birth certificate (big miscommunication with the hospital on this one) as well as a social security number. Thankfully my mom was able to watch Athea while Ben and I went to figure everything out.

Here are some of our favorite pics of the week! Warning... there are quite a bit... since we are only taking Athea out for doctor's appointments... and we are taking turns to run errands (the highlight of our day... we were lucky if we got out every two days)... picture taking has kept us entertained!

Just hanging out... waiting to be changed.

Hanging out with Mama.

Reading with Daddy (this is his favorite book... thanks AC).

2nd bath at home... grandma was here to take pictures.

Even though this picture is blurry... it's one of our favorites!

Fresh after her bath... it looks like she has a secret to tell you.

Enjoying life.

First time she is in a moby... we read that preemies love to be in a sling/carrier. They love the movement and being close. It's a great look for daddy!

This bouncer has saved us... thanks Aunt Jen!

Amazing at how tiny she looks.

Loving the leg kicks (even in the womb she kicked out). She's also sleeping in her own crib.
